For all intents and purposes, Barbados has a two party system. This is where two major political parties dominate the political landscape.
In Barbados they are: the Democratic Labour Party (DLP) and the Barbados Labour Party (BLP). At present, the DLP is in power and holds the majority of seats in Parliament.
Also worth mentioning would be the long defunct NDP as well as the PDP and PDC (last I heard, the PDP and PDC were still operating. Sort of.).
There are a few rumours and whispers about a third party in the making: the XLP. Details are scarce at this point. So scarce that if you thought oil was scarce, then these details would be one trillion times more scarce!
